spain bethel sent a letter recently last oct 3 interpreting that no elder or sm should request a certificate of sexual offenses as other churches or persons in contact with kids.
again jw.org interprets the law to their behalf.. a group of elders in madrid has sent this letter to ask clarification !!.
They probably don't want their asses sued.
Do you blame them? The headquarters is giving them instructions contrary to the law, while making it clear they are personally responsible for congregation goings on. I'd be covering my ass too. Even if genuinely "in" the religion.
over a month ago, the associated press in minneapolis reported that counterfeit pills were found at prince’s home.

these and other mislabeled drugs were found in luggage belonging to the late music star.
I don't think it's clear they knew about his drug use. From what i understand, he wasn't a regular at the meetings and had a girlfriend, etc. I doubt they knew what he was doing in his own home. Perhaps Larry Graham did, but no one else.
However, once the rumors & conjecture (including the perocet OD a couple weeks before) became public; the fact the memorial was still held at the hall shows clear preferential treatment (or valuing all the free advertising over losing face with members who see the inequality).

it's been about 4 or 5 weeks since i was disfellowshipped.
so far it's been easy, i enjoyed being left alone, no one bothering me, no one telling me i need to do more, need to reach out, questioning why i didnt go on the ministry, and the fact that my ex-wifes family cant talk to me even if they wanted to.
If you truly intend to get reinstated, I think you need to stop posting under this name. You got df'd because you were busted by relatives for posting on here right?
The situation is horrible. I hope you find true friends and leave these phonies behind.

I can't worship the God of the bible (see: http://www.scribd.com/doc/95804194/A-Most-Evil-and-Stupid-Book-The-Bible-s-Moral-Depravity-Contradictions-and-Absurdities#download). So even though Christianity is a good story, the old testiment God is full of hate & anger and I can't reconcile them.
Yet I feel something missing. They say religious people are healthier, happier and live longer. But where to turn after being so heavily indoctrinated against all these other faiths?
Has anyone tried New Age and or Science of Mind? I've been dabbling in their beliefs for almost 2 years. But I have an internal fight every time the speaker says & proclaims things as facts with no backing or proof. As a JW, every doctrine & belief had a scripture to back it up (yes I now know they were twisted to meet their needs, but I still could look at the bible and say "this is why we believe what we believe". The only references in these new age churches is books written in the last few decades.
since at least back to the 1960s in canada, jws have been travelling to mexico for cancer treatment.
and, i believe, other medical treatments.
because i watched my uncle die of cancer back in 1962, unable to receive treatment because the doctors couldn't operate without blood, i have always been curious as to why the jws with cancer were going to mexico.
It's Hoxsey that has the Canadians flocking to Mexico (at least in my part of Canada). I know of many people who swear by it. They feel it cured their cancer.
And then there are those that are not alive. I can think of a few of those too. Although some had exhausted their options with traditional medicine and when to Mexico as a last resort. So they may have been unsavable with any course of treatment. IDK. I have mixed feelings about it. I know western medicine isn't the be all to end all though.
